Adjusting well

I'm happy to report that Sabrina is doing very very well adjusting to being left home alone while I'm at work.

The last few mornings I've left her laying on the couch with her feet in the air still in her "gimme a belly rub" position.

I kiss her good-bye
Tell her to be a good girl
and she just contines to lay there with her feet in the air.
:o)

She's obviously adjusting far better than I am, but I think I'm doing okay.
I miss her so much it hurts.

By the way, before I go. I'm still at work and I just wanna post:

annoying

During my lunch time walk today there was a gal behind me a little ways walking too.
AND
talking on her cellphone at the same time.
It was really annoying.
Why would you want to talk on your cellphone while you are out walking??

Just my imagination?

So maybe Sabrina is waking me up a bit early 'cuz she has to go outside to go potty, but I'd like to believe that it's because she knows we are gonna go for our morning walk!!!

I like the thought that my Sabrina is excited about going for our walks.....though I'm not so sure 'cuz when I saw "Wanna go for a walk?" I just get the head tilt, no enthusiasm.

I sure do miss Phoebe's enthusiasm.

Phoebe had the most awesome fluffy ears.

She was so beautiful.

Knocked the wind outta me

I was having a good day today. Better than most, actually. I wasn't as crabby today as I have been lately.....(I'm been in rotten moods the last few weeks)

Anyway, so I'm cleaning up after dinner and I'm singing to Sabrina her song "I LOVE MY SABRINA GIRL!" and without thinking I sang the original version "I LOVE MY PHOEBE & SABRINA GIRLS!" and Bam! it hit me like a ton of bricks....yet again....I'm never going to see Phoebe again.

Wow. It hurts.

While walking Sabrina this morning I had my iPod on shuffle and the Chicago song You're the Inspiration came on.

The lyrics made me think of Phoebe.

I know you might think that is silly, but for me and my love for Phoebe, it fit:

Phoebe is always near

I love my new necklace.
Phoebe is near all the time.
When Sabrina and I go for our walk, while I'm at work, she is near. (Though at work I have MANY pictures in my cubical...so she's always been around here at work!)

Last night I was thinking about how much I miss her hugs. She had this way of nestling in near that too me, felt like she was hugging me.

I miss petting her.
I miss the weight of her on my chest and tummy when both girls would lay on the couch with me.

I miss dancing with her. She LOVED to dance. I'd say "Wanna dance?" and she'd lift up a paw ready to go!

My new necklace

My necklace came in today's mail. I put some of Phoebe's ashes in it and glued it shut. I'm not to wear it for 24 hours until the glue is dry. I also put the little P charm that I believe the girls had received from Debbie & Henry as a gift. I had the charms on their collars until Sabrina's S got caught the one of Grandma's crocheted afghan blankets and was stuck dragging it with her for hours will I was at work. *snort* I immediately removed the charms and put them on my keychain. Now Phoebe's P is included on my new necklace:

In this shot Sabrina is barking at something. I don't know what. I didn't see anything. The neighbors 2 pugs weren't outside.....so who knows what she was fussin' about

Oops I did it again

I think it was Tuesday night I crashed on the couch for several hours soon after I got home from work.

Well, it happened again last night. I was zonked out until 9:30.....then Sabrina and I went right to bed.

It's a good think I take Sabrina for our walk in the morning before I leave for work or that gal would get no exercise at all.

I'm a lazy lump.

Phoebe will be with me, always!

As most of you know, I'm not a jewerly kind of girl. I don't wear any at all.

However, someone told me about how there is jewerly where you can put some of your pet's ashes in them and wear it and carry it with you always. I don't remember who it was that told me about it, but ever since I heard about it I've been wanting to buy one. I just ordered this one:

I can either put some of Phoebe's ashes in it OR the little bit of fur the hosptial had clipped off her just before she passed away.

I just ordered it today, so I won't get it for a week or two, but I can hardly wait to have part of my Phoebe with me, always.

Phoebe's Grandpa made this stain glass box for her ashes.

I love it. It's exactly what I wanted.

I placed Phoebe's box on my dresser near her paw print and other poodles, including Audrey, Buffy and the two love poodles that I received from Betty & Molly.

Fell asleep on the couch soon after I got home from work. (Totally crashed on the couch)
Woke up at 9:38 p.m. and decided to go to bed (after checking my e-mail first.....)

Poor Sabrina, I haven't been a very good poodle mommy today.

Are you kidding me?

Sabrina was less than thrilled that I woke us up at 6 a.m. to go for a morning walk.
She was seriously looking at me like "You've got to be kidding me, right?"

It took a few minutes, but soon she finally got into the walking groove (maybe I should have let her listen to the Music & Lyrics soundtrack while we walked too)

I'm missing my Phoebe girl tonight

It's been a *rough* day.....

daily walks

So I'm still having a tough time with the daily walks since Phoebe died. I don't enjoy them. I know they are good for me and Sabrina, but it's hard, ya know?

Phoebe was the one who LOVED her walks. I loved how happy she would get when I would say "Wanna go for a walk?" She would dance and do her joyful cries.

I don't get that kind of reaction from Sabrina. I never have. She's a good walker, once we are OUT, but she really could give a hoot if we actually did go out every day.

Today we were walking and I had my iPod on shuffle. Every song was depressing the heck outta me....so there was only one thing left to do.

I still wish I had my Phoebe girl to walk with us. She was the one that motivated us. Sabrina and I are naturally lazy butts, who could nap all day long.

Dog park

The Twin Cities Poodles !

Sabrina and I went to a dog park this afternoon to meet up with a bunch of other nice poodle & doodle owners.

The girls and I had gone once last year, in September and we had fun, but the park it was at made me nervous (to be honest I got lost on my way out trying to find the parking lot) and since then they had been at places I wasn't sure where there were (I have no sense of direction and really should not be allowed to drive out of my comfort zone)

Today it was at a dog park I was confident I could find because it wasn't too far from where some of the family lives so, even though I have zero social skills and Sabrina is not even fond of other dogs, we went!

I had a nice time.
Everyone was very friendly and all of them had GORGEOUS dogs. Standards, minatures, Golden doodles, Labradoodles. Every last one of them was beautiful.

The park was gorgeous. Phoebe would have LOVED it there. The whole time I was there I kept thinking that.....how much Phoebe would have loved that place. Maybe she was there with me and Sabrina today? I hope so.

I miss you Phoebe.

Sabrina's new t-shirt!

Here are a couple of shots of Sabrina in the new t-shirt I bought her this morning when I was at Target. She just had the shirt on long enough for me to take the pictures, 'cuz it's too warm outside right now for her to actually NEED it on. I couldn't pass it up though (when you get a close look at the third picture you will see why!)
