Fun Phoebe Facts!

Don’t mind me, I’m in the mood to think about my Phoebe girl and thought I’d post some facts about her.

*She loved hanging out with the kids more than anyone else, even me! :o)

*She would always steal my heating pad whenever I got up and walked away from it.

*I couldn’t say: “Let’s go to Henry’s House!” “Let’s go to the cabin!” Or “Let’s go for a walk!” unless I intended to do one of those things right away.

*She loved to dance.

*She scooted on her butt a lot (itchy butt!)

*After playing outside or going for a walk she would obsessively clean her feet.

*She kept her Grandma warm in the winter time by sitting with her in their chair

*She would kiss you like crazy if her tried to give her a zerbit.

3 months later

I miss my Phoebe girl!

Dreams

Dreamt about Phoebe last night. We were on the couch snuggling like we used to. I got to hold her and pet it.

It was a wonderful dream.

I hope she visits me again tonight.

I love you Phoebe.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSEPH!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CRICKET WHISPERER JOE!

Symptoms reminder

I don't know exactly how many people actually visit this blog, but while Phoebe was alive I would occasionally post the symptoms of Addison's disease to keep people aware and watch over their own dogs.

Even though my precious girl is gone (I miss her so much!), I still feel it is important to post the symptoms from time to time. If I can help even one dog get diagnosed EARLY, well it's worth it. :o)

So to all dog owners. Please watch your furry kids carefully and if they have any or many of these symptoms bring them to the vet ASAP!

SYMPTOMS OF ADDISION'S DISEASE:
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Lethargy
Depression
Lack of appetite
Tremors or shaking
Muscle weakness
Pain in hind quarters
Thanks for listening.

Vet visit!

The other day I was telling my Mom how I miss having a reason to go to the vet. Phoebe's final 6 months we had to visit the vet every 2 weeks to have her electrolytes checked or she was given her shot for her Addison's disease.

I miss the place.

They sent me a postcard the other day that Sabrina is due for her annual exam and some shots. Woo-hoo!

I just called and was able to get an appointment for Saturday morning.

It will be my first time back there since Phoebe passed away. I just know I'm gonna cry! (so will Sabrina, but she ALWAYS cries)

Happy girl!

I just took these shots of my beautiful Sabrina girl:

Walk? No way man!

When I got home from work yesterday I was not feeling well.
I think the combination of having to cut back on my Mountain Dew (doctor's orders) and being headbutted by Marcia the day before made me have a whopper headache yesterday afternoon so when I got home I was in no mood for a walk.

I felt bad for Sabrina but I just couldn't do it. I was on the verge of vomiting I felt so awful!
So instead I had some supper, some Pepsi (which is against doctor's orders, but I was desperate) and took a little nap.

Sabrina's Grandma was willing to take Sabrina for a walk for me. She got her sunglasses and iPod ready and said to Sabrina "Come on! Let's go for a walk!"

Sabrina just continued to sit on the couch with me and looked at her Grandma like "Are you crazy???"

:o)

I guess it's bed time!

So I was upstairs watching the (very boring) Emmy Awards with my Mom when I suddenly realized that Sabrina was no longer on the couch with me. At first I thought she was eating some supper....so I went into the kitchen to have a look. She wasn't there. She wasn't in the living room looking out a window (and barking at anyone that dares to walk by) so I went downstairs and sure enough, I found her here:
I hadn't realized it was time for bed already. :o)
Here is a closeup of her collar. I switched it this morning since tomorrow is the first day of autumn. She's ready for Halloween!!!!:

Oh my nose!!!!!!!!

Everybody remembers this scene from The Brady Bunch:

Well, today something similar happended to ME and Marcia, Henry's black lab.

I was the human and Marcia was the football.

My glasses are a bit bent (the nose thingie) and I was a woozy for about 10 minutes (thought I was gonna vomit) and had ice on my nose....but I'm fine. :o) Unfortunately I'm well enough to go to work in the morning.

Poor Marcia. She was just happy to see me! I was happy to see her too.....but was a bit weary the rest of the visit any time she got too close to my nose. :o)

quiet week

Haven't had much to say this week. Been feeling quiet, actually feeling CRABBY, so that makes me kinda quiet. Missing Phoebe. Ya, know. The usual.

Just took this shot of Sabrina. It shows we had a very very *rough* and *exhausting* day:

For Phoebe

When Sabrina and I got home from our poodle meet up we found this in our room.
Grandma did it for Phoebe: She thought Phoebe deserved a better spot then just on my dresser. :o)
I like her new spot next to Buffy the angel poodle and....I never named the other poodle but Buffy sings one of Denise's favorite Christmas songs "Santa Baby"
Thank you Grandma!

Phoebe just contacted me!

I am in charge of opening all the mail at the clinic.
In with all of the letters and magazines and drug pamphlet info for the doctors was a little postcard. It was in our box by mistake. It was not meant for anyone here.

The postcard had a golden retriever and a minature white poodle on it hanging out in a beautiful garden.
IT WAS PHOEBE!
She is letting me know that she is doing well. :o)
I'm so pleased.
I showed the postcard to everyone. "Phoebe contacted me!"
The postcard is now in the box to get mailed to the correct people on Monday.

I love you Phoebe. I'm so glad you are doing well up there in heaven! Contact me again SOON!
I MISS YOU!

Cricket Whisperer!

HELP US JOSEPH!
We've got a cricket making lots of noise here at the clinic.
I told my co-worker that you can help us get rid of it.
It's driving us crazy!!!

Crickets at home! Crickets at work! I can't stand it anymore!

Help us Joseph the Cricket Whisperer, you're our only hope!

Weekend plans

What Sabrina and I have planned for this weekend:

Happy Birthday Phoebe

Today would have been Phoebe's 12th birthday.
I like to think she is up in heaven having a big party with Butch, Eb, Sheka, Mitzi and Stinker. Apparently Tweety, would not want to come (according to Mickey, 'cuz she and Mom discussed it not to long ago!)

Sabrina and I sang happy birthday to Phoebe this morning.
Happy Birthday Phoebe!
I love you.
I miss you.

I want a Phoebe tattoo

This is my all time favorite Phoebe picture. I seriously wish I could afford to have it tattooed on my back right shoulder blade. I need to either go to LA Ink and have Kat do it, or Debbie said that someone at Acme Tattoo does do portrait tattoos.....but I'm sure they are very very expensive.
My goodness, my Phoebe was beautiful!

My wallpaper at work:

I love having my girls near me while I'm at work. :o)

Otto's big day!

Today was Otto's big day. Racing day! This was his third and final year and he was ready to go!

Marcia was there to cheer her brother on. Henry was busy eating a SoyJoy
Sabrina was happy to be there to cheer Otto on too.

Joseph the Cricket Whisperer

The cricket is hiding in my bedroom now.
It was very noisy last night. I had to put my new Wonka pillow over my ear to help me fall asleep.

HELP US JOSEPH! YOU'RE OUR ONLY HOPE!

Missing Phoebe

A week from today would have been Phoebe's 12th birthday, so I can't stop thinking about that. I can't stop thinking about her. I am doing better, but I still have my rough times. I miss her so much it hurts so I'm going to post some pictures of my sweetie so that later on I can come back here and look at them.

Sabrina picture!

I just took this shot of my Sabrina. She is really *thrilled* to have her picture taken, yet again!
She's a beautiful girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILLIAN!!!

Wonka pillow!

Last weekend I had gotten a day planner for Henry at Borders. Instead of him paying me back with money, I gave him one of my Wonka Golden Ticket t-shirts (I had two of them!) I gave him the one with a little hole in it and asked him to MAKE me something out of it.AWESOME!!!!!!
THANK YOU HENRY!!!

Scrapbooking day

Sabrina and I spent the day at Henry's house. Debbie and Henry helped me make a Phoebe scrapbook. We got several pages done. Mine were the most simple pages, they are more talented then I am!

Sabrina and I spent the WHOLE DAY at their house. We did A LOT of scrapbooking. Rock grilled us lunch (burgers and hot dogs) and we also watched the Johnny Depp movie Benny & Joon.

It was an awesome day and I'm so happy that Henry & Debbie helped me with my Phoebe scrapbook. THANK YOU GUYS!

Here is a picture I just took of Sabrina. She is EXHAUSTED from the long day. Not because she did anything, but ya know, Marcia LOOKED at her a couple of times. That alone was *traumatic*
