High Fashion Sabrina

Sabrina's high fashion sweater arrived in today's mail. It took a bit to get it on her (she was more interested in playing then having a sweater put on her.) Eventually I did get it on and took a few pictures. She looks GORGEOUS!

Sabrina's Grandma had a good suggestion. I had said the sweater reminded me of something Loni Anderson would wear, but she said it is also something Doris Day would wear. I like that! So instead Sabrina is wearing a Doris Day sweater.....that's less slutty. :o)

Tattoo reviews

The majority of my co-workers like my Phoebe tattoo.
I have had a couple "Is that REAL?" and one "Are you kidding me?!?" but overall I've gotten a positive response and everyone is in awe at how it looks just like my girl. :o)

Halloween Fun

Yesterday Henry, Sabrina and I went to Petco. They had a costume contest and you could have your dogs picture taken. Sabrina did not win but she did get a certificate for participating. Here is a picture I took of her while we waited for Henry to come over:

I will take more pictures so you can see her dress better, but I'm going to wait until Halloween night!

We had fun. I'm so glad Henry drove down to hang out with us!

Ken is dog sitting today for his friend Jessica. Zoe and Ken stopped by to say hi (and to see if we had any extra toys that Zoe could play with....boy do I!)

Zoe is gorgeous. She's 3 months old and a total sweetie! Sabrina, of course, hated her.

I haven't ordered it (yet!!!) but when I go back over to the site tonight to see how much it cost, if it's cheap....I probably will!

It's cool enough outside that I put Sabrina's fall jacket on. I had planned to show it off last weekend at the family reunion picnic, but it was too warm that day. Doesn't she look cute?

Marley & Me

This afternoon I left work for awhile to head on down to the Mall of America to see John Grogan, the author of Marley & Me's book signing.

We were like 5th and 6th in line. It was awesome.

I was shocked that there weren't more people there. I thought this book was popular??? Did they not advertise the book signing? What gives?

John was very nice. He talked for a bit and then answered questions. One little boy asked him what his favorite Marley moment was. What John described brought tears to my eyes!

He talked about an evening he built a fire and get nestled on the floor to watch a movie. Marley, who was very old by then, came over to him and plopped right on top of him and fell asleep. John let him stay there and sleep for the evening. It reminded me of my Phoebe and how she would get nestled on my chest and tummy when we would lay on the couch.

I got my book signed and even had a chance to show him a picture of my Phoebe girl. He said he was very sorry for my loss.

I only wish there were more people there. I'm sad he didn't get a bigger turnout. People missed out on meeting a really nice guy!

I'm so glad I went! (left work at 11:30 and was back to work by 3!)

tattoo update

Talked with the portrait tattoo artist this evening. He says he can do my Phoebe tattoo.
I left him the picture for him to sketch. He said he should have it done by Saturday night so I'm to call him then. I gave him my phone number in case he finishes it sooner.

We discussed cost (none of your business) and the amount of time it would take (2 sessions of about 2 hours each)

I'm totally psyched.
I need to do this.
I love my Phoebe. I can't wait to have her will me, always. :o)

Tattoo update

I called the tattoo place to find out when a good time would be to go in and talk to the portrait artist. He was the one that answered the phone and said ANY TIME is fine.

I'd go there after work today but I'm worried about Sabrina (she threw up a couple of times this morning) so I want to get home to her as soon as I can. If she is feeling better tomorrow I will stop by the shop after work tomorrow and show the artist the picture of Phoebe.

I'm totally psyched. I'm on a mission now! I need to get me my Phoebe tattoo!!!!!!

Did I mention that I changed my mind on the spot I want to get it done?

Upper right arm, baby. Upper right arm. I want to be able to see it and my scrubs sleeve is long enough that it will cover it when I'm at work (doesn't really matter though 'cuz I'm almost always cold and wearing my scrubs jacket!)

Phoebe tattoo update!

I contacted a tattoo place near where I live that I'd never seen before to see if they do portrait tattoos. They do! The artist who does them is out of town until October 14th, but I can stop by sometime when he comes back and talk to him about getting my Phoebe tattoo:
I'm really excited. I can't wait to have my Phoebe girl with me, always. :o)
I would have it put on my back, opposite of my Wonka tattoo.

By the way, the tattoo artist's name is: Ghost! Hee-hee!

Cabin Memories

From 1998 until about 2002 my girls and I would go up to the cabin just about every weekend. (Back when the gas prices weren't so insane!)

One of my favorite times of the year to go up was the fall. It would just be me, the girls and their Grandpa. It was extremely peaceful.

Phoebe could wander around the yard (and the neighbors yards) for hours.

I've been thinking about those fall weekends a lot lately. I have such wonderful, fond memories. I can't help but think about them! Especially on a gorgeous weather day like today!

She's a beauty

After an afternoon of rolling around in stinky in the back yard and then getting to lick the lasagna pan that Grandma was about to wash (she got tomato sauce all over her ears and face. I should have taken a picture of THAT, but I was in too much of a rush to get her cleaned up!)

This morning I bought Sabrina a new fall jacket when I was at Target. I was gonna have her model it and take some pictures to post on here, but have decided to wait to unveil her new look next Saturday at the family reunion picnic. :o)

For 3 years in a row I've participate in "Lee National Denim Day" at work. Donate $5.00 and we can wear jeans and a pink shirt for a day. All in support of breast cancer awareness.

Sabrina is happy because her grandpa is down from the cabin. (I think just for a day or two though.)
Apparently she gave him quite the greeting when he got home. :o)

I imagine it was the same sort of greeting Butch used to do when Pizza Patrol arrived at the house. Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo!

I don't feel like working today......
