I met Jimmy this afternoon. What a sweetie. He purred, he played, he loved AND he shed. Boy-o! I love him though. And if he were mine, I'd keep the name Jimmy. It's awesome. :o)

Guilt & anxiety

I didn't notice until I was taking my lunch time walk and I was thinking about my Phoebe and went to touch my Phoebe necklace and there nothing there.

I had forgotten to put my necklace on this morning.

First time EVER.

I'm feeling guilty and anxious about the mistake. How could I forget something so important?
I never leave home without it. NEVER.

I'm sorry Phoebe. I'm so sorry. :o(

Meet Selma!

I met Selma on Sunday. She is soft and sweet. I didn't get to spend as much time with her as I would have liked, but the little bit that we snuggled she was purring. I love the purring! :o)

GOOD NEWS!

Previous "Cats of the Week" Mr. Elliot and Checkers were adopted! Another favorite of mine, Tommy was adopted on Sunday. I'm so happy for them! Sadly, Laura is still there. :o(

Remembering Phoebe

This was my first Memorial Day without my Phoebe girl. Sabrina and I went to Henry's house and I brought 2 pink roses and placed them in the pet cemetery where I had scattered some of Phoebe's ashes last summer. I miss my girl. I think about her every day. Last night Sabrina was snoring and it made me giggle 'cuz it reminded me of when Phoebe would snore.

I'm hoping Phoebe will visit me in my dreams tonight. I love you Phoebe!

Mr. Elliot is one of many sweeties I hung out with yesterday at the Humane Society. Mr. E was one of the most playful. He's soft and cuddly and deserves a good home! I hope for his sake that he will NOT be there when I volunteer next Sunday. I want him to go to a good home.

I know a lot of people prefer getting a brand new kitten, but Mr. E isn't very old and would make an awesome pet.

Otto, Get Well Soon!

Otto hasn't been feeling well since the weekend. Turns out he has a back infection. He is on antibiotics. Could take up to FOUR MONTHS for the infection to clear up.

Get well soon ,Otto.

Checkers!!!!

I found Checkers, the cat I was hanging out with a lot yesterday. I didn't find him on the web site yesterday 'cuz I was looking in the wrong place. He's still just a kitten!

Checkers is a real sweetie. VERY playful and talkative. He did NOT want to get back into his cage and made a run for it TWICE. :o) I had to have another volunteer help me get him to go back in. I hope he's adopted quickly, by someone who wants a playful, loveable, talking cat!

Mother's Day

I got a card and a gift card to the Dairy Queen.

Meet Chaz:

I didn't spend much time with Chaz today as I did last weekend, but he's still a sweetie. True, at first he thought my hand was his own personal chew toy, but he never bit hard. It was just playful nibbling. He stopped that and let me hold him. He's been upgraded to the cat colony room so that means he's good with other cats. I hope he gets adopted soon.

I had wanted to show a picture of Checkers, but he's not on the website yet. He must be very new. He was a talker!!!! For at least the first hour and a half that I was there he did not shut up. He finally settled down. He was a cutie.

Thunderstorms!

For a short time yesterday while I was at work we got some rain. Some boomers where heard. It made me smile. I didn't used to like thunderstorms, but now I smile when I hear thunder because it makes me think of my Phoebe girl. :o)

Phoebe HATED thunderstorms. Holy Moly did she get scared! She would shake shake shake shake shake. The worst part is she would do her shake shake shake while sitting on top of me. Either on my lap, or if it was the middle of the night standing right on top of me while I'm trying to sleep. Shake shake shake shake shake. My poor Phoebe. She was so scared! No matter how I comforted her, she would not calm down until the boomers went away.

Thinking of all those times makes me smile now.
I miss my girl!

In Phoebe's Memory

I took Tuesday, June 30th off from work.

I didn't want to work that day because it's the first anniversary of my Phoebe's death. I want to do something special that day. Something that would make me feel good and HAPPY because I know I'm going to be very sad.

I contacted the Humane Society and asked if I could help out any time that day. They said yes. :o)

I'm so glad.

I miss my girl.
