My nephew Henry moved back home with his parents to save money for college so now my second bedroom is a playroom for my girls.

I had thought about putting a twin bed in there but now I'm not so sure I want to. I set up the desk by the window to see if Penny would enjoy having a new perch to look outside and she does. :) I want to keep the desk there for her, so I don't think I'll be putting a bed in there anytime soon. This can be the girls playroom instead!

Ugly Christmas Sweater

My Mom found me this awesomely bad Christmas sweater at the thrift store she volunteers at. I was going to save it for Friday, but it's so bad, I had to wear it today. (Please note that I'm also wearing a Columbian sweatshirt underneath that because it was really really cold this morning at work. I'm not really that "thick")

Great things that happened in 2011:

I got a TV tattoo on my back in January

I visited my brother and his family out West in January and got to see my nephew Jared get baptized. I was very honored to be a part of his special day.

Sabrina and I visited our friend Linda in Madison, WI in April

In May I decided to buy a house

On Memorial Day I got my nose pierced (which I removed last week after a severe nosebleed nearly had me going to the ER, it wasn't the piercing's fault, but the whole thing freaked me out so I took the piercing 0ut and threw it away in a moment of terror....)

End of June I bought a house.

Started moving into the house on July 7th

Sabrina and I visited our friends Gail & Jay in Fargo, ND in August.

Met Penny on August 28th at the Humane Society and decided I needed to adopt her

Officially adopted Penny on September 14th

A week after adopting Penny I went to Maryland to visit my niece Germaine, her husband and fur kids: Annie, Lia, Cole, Charlie and Doug

Went to NYC on September 24th to see "The Book of Mormon" with Germaine & my nephew Wyatt (loved the show, hated NYC)

Work has been busy. I like being busy.

Bad things that happened in 2011:

Ms. Taffy had major car issues at the end of March. Cost a lot of money and had boring rental cars for nearly two weeks.

My sister Debbie brought over the second recliner that she had gotten from her in-laws. She said I could have it. My living room is complete.

It was a long two week wait but I was finally able to officially adopt and bring home Penny from the Humane Society.

she is slowly getting used to the house. she has the cutest meow in the whole world. begs for food like a pro.

she and Sabrina are not friends yet. yesterday Penny was hissing at Sabrina, today it's Sabrina's turn....to growl at Penny. It's been less than a week, so I hope in time they will become friends.

I love Penny so much!!!

Penny's surgery was postponed due to an upper respiratory infection.

That means she has to stay there at the Humane Society an extra day or two before she will be fixed and be ready to go home.

I'm disappointed cuz I'm anxious to adopt her and bring her home!!

I've been going to the Humane Society every night to visit Penny. She will be fixed on Monday & then I can bring her home Tuesday night.

I've never owned a cat of my own, so I'm a bit nervous. what if she & Sabrina don't like each other!!?

I've lived in my house for two weeks now. I love LOVE love it!

Sabrina is doing ok in the new house. Sometimes when she is out in the back yard she will head over to the gate cuz she knows my parents are right next door and she still thinks that is her "home". (we lived there for 8 years so of course she thinks of it as home!)

In October I'm going to start my adoption search for another poodle. I'd like a white toy poodle (or poodle mix) but any color I bond with I will adopt. Size must be either toy or minature. I do not want a puppy. I'd like the poodle to be at least a year old or two.

Names I have picked (if the name the dog has is something I don't care for):

House news

Heard from the seller today and she doesn't think she will be out of the house until July 7th. I'm very disappointed, but I did put it in the offer that if she needed to stay in the home 30 days past the closing that she would pay me $25.00 a day. I'm really anxious to move into the house, but I guess waiting one more week will be okay. My Mom made me feel better about the whole thing when she told me that I can use that money I will get from the gal staying there an extra week to buy a small flat screen TV for my bedroom. :) After Mom said that I wasn't so upset. Still disappointed, but the move WILL happen. I just need to be patient! Plus I have July 11th - 15th off from work, so I have that whole week to get the place in good shape. :)

Dog Day 5k

On Saturday, June 11th Sabrina and I did the 2nd annual Dog Day 5k. It was a lot of fun!
Unfortunately for me, Sabrina has a phobia about walking across bridges so I had to carry her. And unfortunately for me there was more than one bridge we had to walk across.....

I don't look too happy here. I'm just getting really tired and desperate for a Mountain Dew!

And here is the Princess herself. I'm very proud of Sabrina! 13 years old and did a 5k. Sure she insisted on being carried across the bridges, but she did the rest of the walk!
