I fell in love today. Stray 5 month old kitty. He did not have a name yet so I told him "I would name you Benjamin"
I spent most of my 3 hour shift with him. at around 5:30 a mom & her 2 young boys came in. I was sitting with another cat and they were looking at Benjamin. I said "he is the best cat here". the mom opened his kennel and took him out. he let her hold him like a baby. Her youngest son, who was probably like 7 years old asked to hold him. She put Benjamin in his arms and Ben purred at the boy. Benjamin is not ready to go home yet. he was just brought in as a stray yesterday so the Humane Society must wait 5 days before letting someone else take him home. This awesome family put Benjamin on hold so if no one claims him he will have his surgery and then go home with them. I am very happy for Benjamin......who according to the boy may be named: Butterball, Charlie Brown, or Lebon James :)
