Best day EVER

Yesterday was the best day of my whole life. I met Brent Spiner aka Lt. Commander Data from Star Trek The Next Generation. I've dreamt of meeting him for 27 years, since I was 16 years old.

Brent was very kind to me. While getting his autograph he took the time to talk to me and listened to me babble on and on. I told him how the episode "Elementary, Dear Data" was the first episode I had ever seen and it was love at first sight. I mentioned how much I enjoyed his 2005 series on CBS called Threshold and he told me all the awful details of how Les Moonves the president of CBS canceled the show because he didn't want science fiction on his network. I asked him if he would autograph my arm with "Data" like I had Cary Elwes do with his character Westley from "The Princess Bride" so I could get it tattooed. He wasn't so sure it was a good idea but he did do it (I got it tattooed after we left the Con).

Before I left the autograph table I said "do you remember that movie you did years ago about the 2 lesbians?" He said yes so I said "your character was awkward and shy and scared to answer the phones. That is me. You were playing me" his response "that must have been BEFORE the tattoos" :)

Several hours later was the photo op. his manager remembered my name and said "Laura!" and Brent started singing a song  called "Laura" from the old classic film, which I told him I'd just recently rewatched on TCM.

Before I left I got to give him a fist bump (he doesn't shake hands) and I was the happiest human on the planet.

I also met Karl Urban yesterday. He was gorgeous and kind and smelled soooooooooooooooooo good!

Told you Brent was nothing but nice when I met him. And I agree about Karl. Really glad you had a great time, Laura. You deserve it.

I had two people tell me he was a jerk so I was nervous. Brent was kind and charming to everyone at the Con. I will never forget this day as long as I live and won't have to because I have his autographed tattooed on my arm. I was surprised at how easy it was to talk to him. I was nervous but didn't fall apart like I feared I would. I was able to say almost everything I ever wanted to say to him. the only thing I forgot to ask was if he could still do the voice of the character he played on Night Court.
